The 15th edition of Progetto Fuoco, one of the world’s most important events dedicated to biomass heating systems, concluded on February 28 in Verona. The 2026 edition confirmed a renewed climate of confidence in the sector and growing interest from professional operators.
The scale of the event is reflected in its numbers: more than 40,000 professional visitors, with international attendance exceeding 25%, particularly from Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, Greece, Poland, and the United Kingdom. The exhibition hosted 430 brands from 38 countries, confirming the increasingly international role of the event.
A sector focusing on efficiency, design, and added value
Progetto Fuoco 2026 highlighted a clear direction: the market is evolving toward high value-added products, designed to combine energy performance, technology, perceived quality, and aesthetic integration within domestic environments.
Among the main trends that emerged:
- increasingly efficient stoves, designed to optimize consumption and maximize energy output
- growing attention to low noise levels, now a key factor in the end user’s purchasing decision
- contemporary design and attention to detail, with solutions increasingly integrated into home furnishings
- wider adoption of hybrid pellet/wood technologies, offering greater flexibility of use and independence in fuel management
The overall picture that emerged from the exhibition confirms that innovation in biomass heating is no longer limited to energy efficiency, but also concerns the quality of the user experience and the ability of components to integrate into increasingly advanced product architectures.
The 24V trend and the evolution of feeding systems
Another signal that emerged at the exhibition is the growing adoption of 24V architectures, now implemented in an increasing number of systems and solutions.
At the same time, there is growing attention toward continuous feeder systems, designed to ensure more stable operation and improved user comfort, with components increasingly focused on efficiency and noise reduction.
In this field, IPC has been one of the key references for over 10 years in 24V brushless solutions, used both in pellet feeding systems and in automatic brazier cleaning systems.
IPC’s participation
Within this context, IPC renewed its presence at Progetto Fuoco 2026 as an exhibitor, reaffirming its commitment to supporting manufacturers in the sector with mechatronic solutions specifically developed for biomass applications.
Motors, gear motors, fans, and integrated systems—designed according to the requirements of efficiency, reliability, low noise, and compatibility with different product architectures—today contribute to meeting the evolving technical and performance demands of the market with increasing precision.
The trade fair represented an important opportunity to meet numerous industry professionals, engage directly with manufacturers and partners on new technical requirements, and closely observe the ongoing evolution of the market.
Biomass and a greener future
The strong attendance and international interest confirm that pellet- and wood-based solutions continue to represent a significant pillar in the transition toward a more sustainable energy system. In a context where the need to reduce dependence on gas and oil is increasing, biomass is consolidating its role as a concrete alternative, supported by technological developments focused on efficiency, comfort, and overall appliance quality.
Upcoming events
The organizers have also announced an international spin-off event in Poznań in 2027, further confirming the growing interest in biomass technologies beyond Italy. The next edition of Progetto Fuoco in Verona is already scheduled for February 23–26, 2028.
IPC will continue to closely follow the development of the market, supporting its partners with solutions increasingly aligned with the new requirements for efficiency, sustainability, and user comfort.
Looking ahead, the evolution of biomass solutions will continue to be driven by three key factors: greater energy efficiency, emission reduction, and integration with increasingly intelligent management systems—a path in which technology and component quality will play an increasingly decisive role.
